Tasks
PraxisNote tasks use a kanban-style board with three columns — Todo, In Progress, and Done. Each task can be flagged as a priority, given a due date, tagged, and annotated with comments. Tasks save instantly and support undo on destructive actions.
Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”- Open Tasks from the sidebar.
- Click the + button at the top of the Todo column (or press N on desktop).
- Type a title and press Enter.
- Your task appears in the Todo column, ready to be worked on.
Kanban Columns
Section titled “Kanban Columns”Every task lives in one of three columns:

Moving Tasks Between Columns
Section titled “Moving Tasks Between Columns”- Drag and drop — grab any task card and drop it into another column. You can also reorder tasks within a column by dragging.
- Context menu — not applicable; use drag-and-drop on desktop.
- Arrow buttons — each task card shows left/right arrow buttons at the bottom. Tap the right arrow to advance the task (Todo → In Progress → Done) or the left arrow to move it back.
- Swipe between columns — swipe left or right to navigate between the three columns. A colored indicator bar at the top shows which column you are viewing.
When a task moves to In Progress, PraxisNote records the start timestamp. When it moves to Done, the completion timestamp is recorded so you can track when work was finished.
Creating Tasks
Section titled “Creating Tasks”You can create a task in any column:
- Click the + button at the top of the desired column.
- An inline text field appears at the top of the column.
- Type a title and press Enter to save, or Escape to cancel.
On desktop, pressing N (when not in a text field) opens the inline creation field in the Todo column.
Editing Tasks
Section titled “Editing Tasks”Click on a task’s title text to edit it inline. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel. Use Shift+Enter to insert a line break within the title.
Task Card Anatomy
Section titled “Task Card Anatomy”Each task card contains several interactive elements:

Priority
Section titled “Priority”Priority is a simple on/off flag. Click the flag icon on the left side of any task card to toggle it.
- Flagged tasks display a filled red flag icon and sort to the top of their column (when using priority sort).
- Unflagged tasks display a faint outline flag icon.
Sort Modes
Section titled “Sort Modes”Each column has an independent sort control. Click the sort icon in the column header to choose:

| Due date | Tasks with the earliest due date appear first. Tasks without a due date appear at the end. |
| Priority | Flagged (priority) tasks appear first, followed by unflagged tasks. |
The sort icon highlights when a non-manual sort is active so you can tell at a glance.
Due Dates
Section titled “Due Dates”Add a due date to track deadlines. The due date tab on each task card lets you pick or clear a date.
Setting a Due Date
Section titled “Setting a Due Date”- Click the calendar icon (due date tab) on a task card.
- The date picker panel expands inline.
- Select a date from the calendar.
- The due date badge appears on the tab with color coding.
Visual Indicators

Clearing a Due Date
Section titled “Clearing a Due Date”Open the date picker and click Clear to remove the due date.
Comments
Section titled “Comments”Add comments to tasks for context, progress updates, or discussion notes.
- Click the comments tab (speech bubble icon) on a task card.
- The comments section expands below the task.
- Type your comment and press Enter to post.
- Comments appear in reverse chronological order (newest first) with timestamps.
- Edit — click on a comment’s text to edit it inline.
- Delete — click the trash icon on a comment. A toast appears with an Undo button (5-second window).
Tags let you categorize tasks across your entire workspace. The same tags work on notes and meetings too.
Adding Tags
Section titled “Adding Tags”- Click the + button in the tags row, or click the tag icon tab if no tags exist yet.
- A search input appears inline on the task card.
- Type to filter existing tags, or type a new name and press Enter to create and apply it.
- The tag appears as a colored chip on the card.
Removing Tags
Section titled “Removing Tags”Click the × button on any tag chip to remove it from the task.
Tag Overflow
Section titled “Tag Overflow”When a task has more than 3 tags, a +N badge appears. Click it to expand and see all tags. Click Less to collapse.
Search
Section titled “Search”The search bar at the top of the Tasks page filters tasks across all three columns in real time. Search matches against task titles.

The result count appears to the right of the search input (e.g. “3 results”).
Archive
Section titled “Archive”The Done column offers an archive view for reviewing older completed tasks.
- Look for the archive toggle in the Done column header.
- Click it to switch between Done (recent completions) and Archive (all completed tasks).
- Toggle back to return to the normal Done view.
The archive count badge shows how many total completed tasks exist.
Deleting Tasks
Section titled “Deleting Tasks”- Hover over a task card (desktop) or locate the trash icon (mobile).
- Click the trash icon — it changes to a red confirm button with a countdown.
- Click the confirm button to delete.
- A toast notification appears with an Undo button. You have 5 seconds to restore the task.
